Children's Gardens

The Gardens are located on the South lawn of St. Luke's.  There are two separate gardens under construction,
each prepared and cared for by children of all ages and "children at heart".  Groundbreaking was May 11, 2011

Our first harvest was very successful!  We were able to supply Vacation Bible School children with plenty of cucumbers!

Vegetable Garden -

Located on the Southwest corner.   Decorated for fall.

Meditation Garden -

Located on the South side of St. Luke's near the South entrance.  Currently, we have a concrete bench made by one
of our youth as an Eagle Scout project.  There is also a completed brick pathway leading to the bench.
We have planted three trees (Redbud, Crabapple and Cherry).  Planted Iris, Day Lilly, Vinca, Columbine and Lilac Bushes.

All plants and materials have been donated - THANK YOU!!!  We are excited to see what emerges in the spring!

When do you meet?

We meet on Wednesday evenings with a pot luck dinner at 6:00pm and garden work afterwards until 7:30pm.  Bring a dish
to share.  All ages welcomed!
In the event of rain/snow/cold, we will continue to meet for dinner, fellowship and planning.

How can I participate?

Volunteer - time to water, time to weed, time to mentor, time to have fun, time to make new friends

Donate - garden hand tools, plants thinned from your own garden (we plan to transplant in the fall)

*if you have plants to donate, please arrange a time with Erica or Jamie for guidance.

Fundraising

Participated in the Community Wide garage sales with generous donations from our church family.
